|FROM WILMA: Some dread winter while others do not. While I don’t like cold winds, I do like the stark beauty of nature at this time of year. Outlines of mountains and silhouettes of bare trees against clear skies are especially striking. Sunsets and sunrises are part of this beauty and there have been some gorgeous ones recently. |
Weaverville is a “walkable” town - I love walking through neighborhoods, around Lake Louise Park, and in Main Street Nature Park and observing winter beauty. Some of the things I enjoy seeing are last season’s bird and squirrel nests visible in deciduous trees. Occasionally I will spot a hornet’s nest and, if accessible, collect it.
If the weather is too unfriendly to be outside, enjoy nature inside. Browsing through our greenhouse plant selections and beautiful seed displays can lift your mood. Take advantage of Ruth’s Seed Starting Seminar on Saturday, January 25 for inspiration!
Our Green Goods Manager, Matt Timmer, took this sunrise picture when arriving at work for the day.
