|We Love Pets, Just Like You..|
Happy November Everyone!
Gratitude-This month and every month I am grateful for those in my life. From my family and friends to our pet sitters and our clients (two legged and four). All of which continue to impact my life in a positive way, and hopefully I am doing the same for them.
I start every day with gratitude. For just being alive, for all the people and pets in my life, for being able to live a life I love, for being able to help people through my work and more.
Here are some great ways to practice Gratitude ...
Share your Gratitude. Write a thank-you note to someone you are grateful for or to. It's great to tell them, but a hand written note has a much bigger impact.
Start a Gratitude Journal.
Meditate on Gratitude.
Start your day with a mental or written gratitude list.
Start a Gratitude Jar: Whenever you experience something you are grateful for, make a note of it and put it in the jar. Feeling low or need a pic me up? Pop open you jar and read a few of your notes.
Each day at dinner say one thing you are grateful for that happened that day.
Practicing Gratitude on a daily is scientifically proven to help you lead a happier and healthier life!

Good Dog! Spotlight: Pet of the Month
MEET HARLAN & HALLEY!
Longtime clients Harlan & Halley are Shar Pei. The Shar-Pei is a breed of dog known for its deep wrinkles and blue-black tongue. The breed originates from southern China. The English name "Shar-Pei" derives from the British spelling of the older Cantonese shā pèih, which translates to "sandy skin" and refers to the texture of the breed's short, rough coat.
The Shar Pei comes in different coat types - horse, brush and bear coat.
The horse coat is rough to the touch and prickly and is thought to be closer to the original Shar Pei breed in coat type than the brush or bear variations of the coat. The brush coated variety has slightly longer hair and a smoother feel to it. The bear coated variety is longer yet again and has a similar appearance to it of the Chow. The coat is so harsh in some aspects, that occasionally some humans can develop a prickly type rash allergy to it. The coat itself is usually solid in color and is seen in red, black, cream, brown, blue, sable, fawn and apricot to name a few. The skin pigmentation is black inside the mouth including the tongue, with a domed forehead, small triangular shaped ears and deep set eyes. The tail is short, thick and curls over its back. All in all, the impression Shar Pei should give is one of solid strength with an overall body that is well muscled.
Shar-Pei are strong, regal, independent guardians famous for intelligence and loyalty. They are suspicious of strangers and other dogs. Shar-Pei are serene dogs, but they will meet a perceived threat with tenacity and vigor. Early training and socialization are essential—a dominant adult Shar-Pei without them is a serious problem waiting to happen.
Harlan and Halley are both very dog social pups. While Halley is shy around people, Harlan is the polar opposite, knowing no strangers (human or dog)!
WHAT IS A BOARD & TRAIN HYBRID PROGRAM?
With our BOARD & TRAIN HYBRID Programs, the dog you have today, doesn’t have to be the dog you have tomorrow.
Happier owners and happier dogs!
You AND your dog will be better educated and HAPPIER!
WELCOME TO BOARD & TRAIN HYBRID BY GOOD DOG! COACHING & PET CARE
Most Board & Train programs give little follow up care to the
owner. It’s all about the time spent with the dog while it’s boarding. While this is great for the dog, what is the owner
learning? This philosophy makes it very difficult for the dog and their owners to succeed in the long run.
You see, dog trainers can train dogs. That’s a given. But, in the long run the dog lives with the owner so, the owner needs to learn how to maintain what was taught to the dog in the first place. The owner needs training as much as the dog does! An hour or two at the training facility when they pick up their dog isn’t going to cut it. Not remotely. When the dog goes home, the owners are ill equipped for the flashback that the dog will most assuredly experience. At Good Dog! Coaching & Pet Care we give you more, much more. LEARN MORE >>> HERE
THE HOLIDAYS ARE COMING AND SO ARE THOSE GUESTS!
BRUSH UP ON YOUR DOG'S OBEDIENCE SKILLS NOW FOR A HAPPIER HOLIDAY SEASON FOR ALL!
Teaching your dog to be calm, even under exciting/stressful circumstances is crucial.
A household without rules, boundaries, guidance,
or training is a nerve wracking environment for a dog (not to mention the people).
This is why basic obedience foundation work is important. Your dog can’t be jumping up if they are in place, they can’t be counter surfing, if they are in place, they can’t be charging the door, if they are in a down, they can’t be barking out the window if they are in place! They can’t be charging at people, acting aggressively if they are in place (int the house), in a sit or down or practicing a structured walk/heel (when outside).
Sitter Spotlight: JONI MYSLINSKI
JONI MYSLINSKI – PET SITTER/DOG WALKER
Welcome to Good Dog! Coaching and Pet Care! Joni grew up in the Atlanta area and has been a resident for almost 45 years. Her love for dogs began after her parents moved the family from New Jersey to Chamblee in 1973. Her older brothers surprised her and her parents with a puppy – (a surprise Joni thought was amazing, even though her parents’ had a bit of a different reaction). 😉. At the time, Joni needed a friend and “Duke” became her beloved pet throughout her growing up years. Since then, Joni has owned and cared for other dogs as family pets, as well as helping others with their animals whenever they have had a need for pet care. Joni has 3 children who have had the benefit of growing up with pets as well. Joni especially enjoys pet-sitting. She understands the importance of knowing your pet is given the best care while you are away from home, so you can relax and be worry-free. Her current beloved pet is Sophie, a chihuahua/terrier mix she brought home from a rescue. Besides caring for dogs, Joni has also enjoyed a career in real estate.
