Glass art by Michael Mikula
Moon Temple, 36" x 3" x 7.5"

Michael Mikula is always looking up - examining the built environment for its patterns, forms and details to spark his imagination. For more than two decades, he has explored a process using multi-part graphite molds as a tool for introducing imagery into blown glass. His architecturally inspired works create one of a kind cast, cut and polished glass sculptures, with integral precision milled metal structures.

Mikula earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1987 and has further studied at Pilchuck, Penland and Fundacio Centre del Vidre in Barcelona, Spain. He has maintained a full time studio practice since 1988, now living and working in Cleveland, OH at his Midtown Glassworks Studio located in what is dubbed Cleveland’s Glass Corridor.
