CEO Update
Happy Thanksgiving!
I am sending you my e-bulletin early this week, as I want to wish everyone in our STHCS family and all those who support our efforts a happy and safe Thanksgiving. I hope all of you can enjoy the holiday with family and friends, as we all have a lot for which to be thankful. Despite a very challenging health-care landscape, we continue to collaborate and find innovative ways to provide our communities with the services they need. I’m thankful for your support and everything you do to help STHCS improve the health and wellness of the rural communities we serve.
Cattaraugus Gives Day, Dec. 3

#CattaraugusGives Day is right around the corner -- Tuesday, Dec. 3. Cattaraugus Gives is a 24-hour online fundraising event, bringing together community nonprofits with the shared goal of making the Cattaraugus region a stronger, more vibrant community. A gift to any of the participating nonprofits is a gift to the community and the nonprofits who work every day to make the Cattaraugus region a better place.

Contributions received at STHCS on Cattaraugus Gives Day will support the purchase of high-fidelity simulation manikins for EMS provider training. These training materials bring intense realism to EMS training in scenarios our providers see often in our rural area. If you’d like to donate, please click here. I sincerely thank everyone ahead of time for your support!
Allegany Indian Reservation VFD Fire Hall Grand Opening
I want to congratulate the Allegany Indian Reservation Volunteer Fire Department (AIRVFD) for the grand opening of the new Seneca Fire Allegany Territory Station. This station features five bunk rooms, large training spaces, and beautiful fire truck and ambulance bays. With the opening of this new fire hall, AIRVFD will be able to begin using the distance learning equipment purchased with the support of the USDA RUS Distance Learning and Telemedicine grant program in this brand new fire hall. I want to thank Peter Wilson, AIRVFD EMS Captain, and Michael Gates, Director of Seneca Nation Emergency Management, for giving a tour to Alicia and I, and for also discussing further ways STHCS could collaborate with the Seneca Nation.
