|We Love Pets, Just Like You..|
Happy New Year Everyone!
As you can see I'm totally late in getting this newsletter out! But as the old saying goes... Better late than never!
I wanted to wish you all a very happy new year.
Last year was a banner year for us. With regard to both dog training and pet sitting. We were given the opportunity to serve many families needing help training both new puppies and adult dogs. From basic obedience to behavioral issues.
We also gained many new pet sitting clients who allowed us the pleasure of caring for their sweet pets while they traveled.
The new year is a time of resolutions and goal setting. What are your goals this year?
One of my personal goals (which also relates to my business) is to participate in a week long shadow program of a world renowned dog trainer. I have already signed up to do so this summer (so excited!). Although I have been training dogs for over 10 years, I absolutely love to learn new techniques that will better help me serve our clients and their dogs. My passion is helping people enjoy their dogs more as well as helping dogs to have a better, more balanced life through teaching better behaviors.
Another goal is to expand our team of Professional Pet Sitters so we can continue to serve and grow. So if you or someone has a passion for pets AND people, has a strong work ethic and team spirit, someone who would like to earn income doing something they love (maybe it's you?!) please send them our way by having them fill out our online pre-application... click here https://gooddogcoaching.com/career-opportunities/ to start.
We are also looking to add to our dog training team. Who do you know that has a passion for dogs, people and learning. Someone who is willing to work with all types of dogs big and small and possesses an obsessive work ethic and positive mental attitude. Please send them our way by having them click this link... https://gooddogcoaching.com/dog-training-career-opportunities/

Our vet of 25 years recommended Good Dog! & now I see why! Teri & her team are wonderful! Great communication from the very beginning, friendly, thorough & informative. We got pictures & updates the entire time we were gone. They are incredibly professional & love animals with a passion that is obvious. We came home after a week at the beach to happy, healthy pets (2 dogs & a cat)! It’s such a relief to be able to travel without worry or guilt. I think our pets were having as grand a time as us that week!- Jeanne C.

Good Dog! Spotlight: Pet of the Month
RINGO, LULU BEAN & MIHLO
Welcome to the Good Dog! Family of pets Ringo, Lulu Bean & Mihlo!
As you can see this sweet bunch of pups are all Boxers. Allie & Calli, two of our fabulous pet sitters get to visit these babies several days a week for a midday potty and play visits. Both Ringo (Brindle) and Lulu Bean (White) weigh in at over 70lbs. Mihlo is just a pup but has already grown by leaps and bounds since we first met.
Ringo and Lulu Bean were a bit shy at first but quickly warmed up and now welcome Calli and Allie with love, snuggles and exhuberance. Mihlo knows no strangers.
Boxers are known for being bright, fun loving and active dogs. Loyalty, affection, intelligence, work ethic, and good looks: Boxers are the whole doggy package. Bright and alert, sometimes silly, but always courageous, the Boxer has been among America’s most popular dog breed for a very long time.
Did you know???
Boxers originated in Germany.
Boxers do box! When playing they have a tendency to stand on their back legs and and kick out their front paws like a human boxer.
Boxers are known for their unusual head shape. According to the breed standard, their snouts are meant to be half the length of their skull. This, coupled with an undershot jaw and strong teeth, helped boxers bite and hold on to their prey. As hunting dogs, Boxers were bred to be able to clutch animals in their mouths until their owners arrived, while their short snouts allowed them to breathe all the while.
These sweet pups are favorites for sure. They are a bright spot in our day and we look forward to caring for them for years to come.
WHAT IS A BOARD & TRAIN HYBRID PROGRAM?
With our BOARD & TRAIN HYBRID Programs, the dog you have today, doesn’t have to be the dog you have tomorrow.
Happier owners and happier dogs!
You AND your dog will be better educated and HAPPIER!
WELCOME TO BOARD & TRAIN HYBRID BY GOOD DOG! COACHING & PET CARE
Most Board & Train programs give little follow up care to the
owner. It’s all about the time spent with the dog while it’s boarding. While this is great for the dog, what is the owner
learning? This philosophy makes it very difficult for the dog and their owners to succeed in the long run.
You see, dog trainers can train dogs. That’s a given. But, in the long run the dog lives with the owner so, the owner needs to learn how to maintain what was taught to the dog in the first place. The owner needs training as much as the dog does! An hour or two at the training facility when they pick up their dog isn’t going to cut it. Not remotely. When the dog goes home, the owners are ill equipped for the flashback that the dog will most assuredly experience. At Good Dog! Coaching & Pet Care we give you more, much more.

New Years Resolution- Just Do It!
New Years Resolution? Just Do It!
Teaching your dog to be calm, even under exciting/stressful circumstances is crucial.
Struggling with your dog’s bad behavior? Jumping, mouthing, running out open doors, pulling on the leash, reactive towards other dogs, people, guarding, barking, OCD behaviors, crate nonsense, separation anxiety, toileting in the house? You may be experiencing some or all of these. Even if you are only experiencing a few it can seem overwhelming. Where do you even begin? My advice… just start. Or as Nike might say for a New Year Resolution “Just Do It”.
If your dog ONLY knew the “Place” command, you would be amazed at all the things you could use it for!
Start by teaching your dog to be ok with being in the crate. Do in and out of the crate exercises, 30 reps at a time. Start having a leash on your dog whenever they are not crated and are with you (even in the house). The leash gives you access to better control.
Begin teaching one command such as the “Place” command (visit www.youtube.com/c/TerieHansengooddogcoachingnpetcare to learn how). READ MORE
Sitter Spotlight: RACHEL WHITEFLEET
RACHEL WHITEFLEET– PET SITTER/DOG WALKER
Welcome to Good Dog! Coaching and Pet Care! My name is Rachel and I am very excited at the opportunity to work with Good Dog because animals have always been a big part of my life. I have worked as a pet sitter and walker with all kinds of animals. I've spent several years on a farm taking care of dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, pigs and chickens. Pets are part of the family and should be treated with that in mind. I currently have three dogs, a cat, fish, a lizard and a frog. Though there are many animals in my life there is always room in my heart for more fur babies. I look forward to taking care of your fur baby too.
