Thinking About Seeds
Growing plants from seeds involves a little mystery, and a touch of magic. Each time a seed bursts forth, we feel a gasp of joy – even though we have planted thousands of seeds…the miracle continues to inspire awe.

You will find a delightful selection of seeds in our garden shop including veggies, flowers, and herbs. January is a traditional time for garden planning and seed buying, an activity that reliably fills you with spring optimism.

Aside from the magic, one seed packet allows you to grow a LOT of plants. They are very cost effective!
New Houseplants Just Arrived
We just unloaded a big order of new houseplants and succulents. Green indoor plants are just the boost your home needs once the Christmas tree is gone and the Holiday cheer is back in the boxes. Make January a little more lush - start your own jungle!
 January Marches Us Forward
FROM WILMA: New Year’s Day weather was brisk but sunny - perfect weather for wintertime gardening. Susan, Joe, and Sarah planted several evergreens at the farm that will be used for future holiday greenery. An ostrich fern had become overgrown in my garden and I spent quite a while “grubbing” it out with a heavy-duty mattock. I moved a special hosta into the spot.

January usually has some nice days suitable for a bit of gardening. Areas near entrances to your home can be made more interesting with container gardens put together with evergreens, twinkle lights, colorful branches, and hardy perennials. Replenishing mulch can do wonders, too. Don’t forget the birds - check out our display of feeders, etc.

Happy New Year!
