‘Moonshot’: Safe Sleep Summit

 On Thursday, I gave a presentation on our Cribs for Kids program at the Safe Sleep Summit in Buffalo, hosted by BestSelf. It was a privilege to discuss the ongoing success of our program with child care and health care stakeholders in Erie County, where there have been high numbers of unsafe sleep-related infant deaths in recent years. To date, our program has directly educated 556 parents/caregivers and provided 431 free, safe Pack ’n Play cribs to families in need across Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties. As a result, the program has greatly reduced the frequency of infant deaths with the overarching goal of someday reaching zero in this area.

Board of Directors Meeting

 I’d like to again thank our Board of Directors for meeting here at STHCS this week. I know how difficult it is to find time when schedules and responsibilities can be so hectic. Some even travel great distances to discuss our important agendas. The effort is very much appreciated.
On behalf of the organization, I thank each of our Board members for bringing something special to the table. Your areas of expertise and experience serve as great guides for the direction of our rural health network.
