Eat Your Vegetables
FROM WILMA:  “Eat your vegetables” was an admonition we often heard in childhood. Luckily, I liked most vegetables, however, green peas were not a favorite then and still are not today. I think this is a throwback to the ones served in the school cafeteria.

In some parts of the country Valentine’s Day is the traditional time to plant green peas while in more northern areas it is St. Patrick’s Day. Here in WNC we should probably plant them somewhere in between. They can be started inside now and transplanted to the garden as weather permits.

If your green thumb is itching, stop by the Garden Shop for seeds, heat mats, germination soils, and other gardening supplies. Early veggie transplants including green peas will soon be available from our farm.
