Safe Kids Medicine Safety Grant
|
I am happy to report that I recently found out that our Safe Kids Southern Tier New York (SKSTNY) coalition was awarded the 2020 Medicine Safety Grant. This grant from Safe Kids Worldwide is supported by Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. (JJCI). The purpose of this program is to work to strengthen education provided to families and awareness-raising activities to prevent medicine-related injuries to children.
In the coming months, SKSTNY will work to coordinator several educational sessions and community events to educate parents and caregivers of young children about responsible storage, dosing and disposal of medicine, and teach older children about responsible medicine use through the Scholastic OTC Medicine Safety program.

Clarksville Ambulance Service Award
|
Southern Tier Emergency Medical System (STEMS) was awarded "EMS Provider of The Year" for 2019 by Clarksville Ambulance Service earlier this week. STEMS is responsible for researching and coordinating educational seminars to meet the needs of the EMS agencies in Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties. Clarksville Ambulance Service is just one of the 93 agencies that STEMS serves as a NYSDOH BEMSTS Program Agency. We are honored to be recognized for the dedication to the ambulance services within our region.
