Sexual Assault Awareness Month
|
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). SAAM has focused on bringing in audiences beyond advocates — those who may not realize they play an important role in preventing sexual violence. Recent resources have focused on how people like parents, faith leaders, and coaches can become agents of change, while sharing the practical things each of us can do to prevent sexual assault.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be sharing posts that give facts about sexual assault, define consent and help people know what to do if they or someone they know is a victim of a sexual assault. Each of these posts will also remind the community that our SAFE program was created to support survivors of sexual assault. I want to thank all of our SAFE providers and Jones Memorial Hospital, Olean General Hospital and UPMC Chautauqua for providing this needed service for our communities.

WREMAC Provider Credentialing
|
At the Western Regional Medical Advisory Committee (WREMAC) meeting on March 18, 2020, members decided to extend provider credentialing deadline ninety (90) days. Provider credentialing will not be due until at least September 30, 2020. This date may be extended as evolving circumstances dictate. This program requires all EMS agencies to have their providers demonstrate competence with required skills with a WREMAC-approved preceptor. This requirement ensures that EMS providers maintain skills to safely provide care in emergency situations. If you have any questions about the deadline extension, please reach out to me.
