SSI and
Stimulus Checks
The Social Security Administration has announced  that Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients will automatically receive their Economic Impact Payments directly to their bank accounts through direct deposit, Direct Express debit card, or by paper check, just as they would normally receive their SSI benefits. Treasury anticipates SSI recipients will receive these automatic payments no later than early May.

If you are a current recipient of Family Support Funding please note that all requests for reimbursement have to be submitted by June 1, 2020.
The Arc Williamson County's Local Family Support Council will be making decisions on allocations for funding for the 2020-2021 fiscal year during the month of May and you will be notified as soon as possible.   The Arc accepts applications at any time throughout the year but if there is no funding available, you will be placed on a waiting list and should additional funding becomes available throughout the year, you will be notified. In order to be considered for Family Support funding, we must have a completed, signed 2020-2021 Intake/Application Form and all needed proofs-proof of disability, proof of residency and proof of citizenship.   CLICK HERE FOR THE FAMILY SUPPORT HANDBOOK FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT TYPES OF PROOF ACCEPTED. After these are received by The Arc, you will be contacted so that we can determine if you will be eligible based on the state‚Äôs definition of disability.  You will then be notified in writing of your eligibility.  If you are found not eligible you will have 10 days to request a reconsideration. For the 2020-2021 Application/Intake Form CLICK HERE.  If you have any questions, please call Sharon Bottorff at 615-790-5815, ext 3 or e-mail at
Special Education - Good Documentation
Good documentation is always essential to success at IEP and 504 meetings.  During these current times though, it is even more important.  When school resumes in the fall your child may likely need compensatory education to make up for the education lost when schools were closed and a successful outcome most likely will depend on the documentation you make available to the IEP/504 Team.  Here are two great resources from Wrightslaw to help-

#GivingTuesday on May 5 will celebrate global philanthropy, while #BigPayback on May 6-7 supports nonprofits in our own backyard. No matter when you give, watch for the link that we will be sending out soon.
