BLUES FESTIVAL E-GUIDE  APRIL 30, 2020    VOL 15 / ISSUE 18
Audrey Turner :: I'M HERE

I’m Here is blues and soul like you’ve never heard. Audrey is America’s Golden Voice. Through her voice she paints a picture that a blind man can see. Her voice is sultry strong and electrifying. Every song is delivered with raw passion and you feel every emotion.

I'm Here is a collection of some of the greatest rooted blues songs ever recorded along with a few originals. The featured songs on the album are “Night Time Is The Right Time,” originally recorded by Ray Charles, “The Sky Is Crying” originally recorded by Elmore James, and “Ball And Chain” originally recorded by Big Mama Thornton, and hit at the top of the charts with Janis Joplin. I’m Here was produced by Emanuel Madison (her brother) and Audrey Madison Turner. There is one thing for sure, and I know that you will do, is remember this voice that makes you cry and laugh and capture your heart as America’s Golden Voice.

"From the very first time I heard AMT's voice on "I Smell Trouble" I knew. This is the quintessential soul sound – rich, strong, and soulful.” - WABG Radio/James Poe

Born in San Francisco, Audrey Madison Turner began singing at the age of five. She enjoyed all types of music including blues, pop, jazz, rock & roll, pop and classical. In high school she formed a family group called “Madison Avenue” that the legendary Steve Wonder wrote songs for. Audrey sang and toured with Natalie Cole, the daughter of Nat King Cole. In 2002 Audrey Madison met Ike Turner and initially performed as an Ikette. Soon after, she became Audrey Madison Turner and toured the world as a featured artist. Audrey says, “the first blues song I learnt was “I Smell Trouble” and “ooh my, was I in trouble. While surprising Ike Turner in Memphis to receive The Memphis Hero’s Award, I was called on stage by Ike. He told the audience, since he lost his voice, he gonna call a young lady to the stage that just learn how to sing the blues. He said, ‘I just taught her how to sing the blues two weeks ago.’ I had no choice but to go on stage. I was nervous and afraid, but when the music began to play and I opened my mouth to sing the blues, it felt so right. I received five standing ovations that night. That night the people in the audience confirmed that I was meant to share my gift with the world!”

“Audrey Madison Turner is fire… this women made the hair on my arm stand up!”
- Brian Johnson (ACDC)

Audrey has graced the stage with Ike Turner, Pinetop Perkins, B.B. King, Sting, Little Milton, and more. America’s Golden Voice Audrey Madison Turner is magical greatness, captivating, fun, and electrifying. Her book titled, Love Had Every Thing To Do With It is also a must-read.
