CEO Update
Simulation Manikin Training
As I previously reported, we were able to purchase two high-fidelity EMS training manikins as a result of funding through the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC). EMS Educators, Mickey Forness, Todd Reisner, Tim Richardson, Brian Wilcox, Tom Sampson, Denise Cuillo, and Becky Marsh spent all day yesterday receiving in-depth instruction on the use of the manikins and how to teach using simulation and continue this training today. We have spent a tremendous amount of time ensuring the equipment will be utilized and not become a "100-pound paperweight" throughout the project supported by the ARC. I want to recognize each of the educators for dedicating so much time to learn about these simulators that will ultimately change EMS education delivery in our region.
Chautauqua Co. Narcan Training and Distribution Meeting
I was able to attend the Chautauqua County Narcan training and distribution meeting virtually this week. The purpose of the meeting was to coordinate the various efforts taking place in the county in relation to the education and distribution of Narcan. During the meeting, I was able to share the Narcan administration data that was collected throughout Allegany, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua county from EMS, Fire and Law Enforcement through our Southern Tier Opioid Overdose Prevention Program.

I am excited to continue collaboration with Chautauqua County on their plan to meet their community's needs. If you are in need of a Narcan training or need to resupply your stock of Narcan, reach out to Jordan at prevention@sthcs.org.
