|And wow, is it ever hot outside! Everything everywhere is beginning to look thirsty and heat-stressed all the time now. But, even in these temperatures there is a way to keep yourself cooled down. In yoga, we know of a fabulous pranayam (breathing technique) called Sitali breath that has the ability to cool the body and blood and to help break a fever and prevent heatstroke. It's super easy to do!
1. Make a beak of your mouth.
2. Protrude the tongue from the lips. If you can round the tongue like a straw, that's great. If all you can do is curl the sides, that works too.
3. Inhale in, feeling the diaphragm lift. Once you have filled the lungs, bring the tongue back into the mouth and close the lips.
4. Exhale out through the nose, pushing the navel back towards the spine, expelling the air from the lungs.
5. Take four or five breaths like this and notice how much cooler you feel!

|As you might remember, Yoga Lola now has a sister business - the Art, Movement, & Life Skills Academy for teens and youth! Our first Summer Session has already closed, but you still have time to join us for our second summer session! |We are open and holding classes as usual! It's wonderful to have a community to practice in, no matter how small. We have, of course, put additional sanitizing practices in place, as well as practicing social distancing and complying with the mask restrictions as ordered by the Governor. We'd love to have you join us and do some yoga! Class size is strictly limited, so you MUST sign up for any classes you plan to attend.
