Hello Dance Families!
The new 2020/2021 season is coming up quickly. Thank you for giving your students the gift of dance and for giving us the gift of working with them.

WE PROUDLY OFFER BOTH IN-PERSON AND ZOOM CLASSES THIS YEAR!

This season Curtis Studio of Dance will be offering both in-person and zoom classes. Due to state guidelines, under our child care classification, we can offer both types of classes for your convenience. During registration, please let us know your preference.  Our dedicated teachers are working hard to bring you the best of both worlds in the safety of our state health guide-lined studio or your own home.

ONE WAY TO REGISTER THIS YEAR!
  • REGISTER BY PHONE: Please call Bonnie personally at 805-732-3229 now thru August 28.  Please call 9 am - 5 pm only :)
Emails will not work as it is most important to talk about what dance styles the dancer wishes to take and what classes are available for them regarding time and level. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL!

It is most important that you check all your shoes and dance class needs so that you are ready for the first day of class. The 9th Street Dance Shoppe will be open August 24, 26 and 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m for your dancewear & dance shoe needs.

We look forward to seeing each and everyone one of the students the week of
August 31 be it in-person or by zoom.

Let’s get dancing!

All the Best,
Bonnie Curtis

Wearing a Face Mask Protects People Around You
Thank you for joining Curtis Studio of Dance this Fall. Classes start August 31, 2020. We look forward to seeing you there!

Below you will see our guidelines for this year at the Studio. Per California law, teachers and students must wear a mask at the studio. Wearing a face mask protects people around you. We recommend bandana type face masks for optimum airflow while dancing.

Fortunately, our lovely student dancer, Elsa, has made a wonderful mask that is perfect for dancing. Combining a bandana style face mask with behind the ear attachment, her mask is a great solution for our dancers. Elsa will have masks available for $10 at the 9th Street Dance Shoppe.

Please call Bonnie to sign up for Try-Outs! 805-732-3229
Please remember to wear your mask to try-outs!

  • Teachers will take their temperature before coming to studio. If temperature is above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, please call Bonnie immediately. A substitute teacher will be provided.
  • Teachers will wash hands before opening doors to students.
  • Students who are well but who have a sick family member at home with COVID-19 must stay home. Please join your class by Zoom.
  • Students who have symptoms, cough, fever or are not feeling well must stay home.
  • No pre or post class socializing will be allowed. Parents may not come into the studio. No congregating on the sidewalk. Curbside student drop off and pick up only.
  • Prior to entering the studio, a staff member will welcome student, dollop hand sanitizer on their hands and will take all students temperature via a no-touch thermometer. If student's temperature is above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, they will be asked to leave.
  • No dressing room access. Please come prepared to dance.
  • Bring your own water bottle, no sharing. There will be no snacks or food allowed in the studio.
  • All outside doors will be open at all times to allow fresh airflow into rooms. Fans will be located at each door.
  • Per California guidelines, teachers & students must wear mask. All dancers, please bring a mask. Dancers are recommended to wear bandana type mask for more airflow. Teacher will monitor for paleness, dizziness in student during intense workouts. We have not found that masks restrict airflow in our dancers.
  • Classes will be different. Beginning of each class, teachers will instruct students on safe dance guidelines.
  • 6 ft circles will be marked on floor prior to class. Students will be asked to stay in circles. During Barre exercises, students will be placed 6 ft apart.
Thank you for allowing Curtis Studio of Dance the honor of having your dancer with us!
We are looking forward to seeing everyone and enjoying the wonderful gift of dance!
