Our Safe Kids Southern Tier New York coalition is hosting a virtual event through August 16. Watch and Win is a virtual educational event to help new and existing parents and caregivers learn about the latest trends in child safety, health and well-being. Topics include ABCs of Safe Sleep, Medication Safety, Kinship Services, Postpartum Depression, Fire Safety, and Birth Control. In an effort to continue to respect social distancing in the current pandemic, this past Wednesday, the Southwestern Regional EMS Council met virtually using our BlueJeans platform. While a fully online format is not ideal, I would like to thank all of the SWREMS members for their willingness to give this type of a meeting format a try as well as for their feedback on the meeting. Overall, the meeting went well, with a few minor hiccups due to the technology. We look forward to continuing to coordinate the SWREMS meetings in various formats to meet the needs of the council.
