Downtown Revitalization Initiative |
As previously reported, STHCS was approved for a final round of building improvements funded under New York State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) grant program. After nearly three years at our current location, the project to install a new entrance, eye-catching front and rear signage; as well as, tint the windows, has been completed this past week. These upgrades are apart of the City of Olean’s current Walkable Olean project.

Through the generosity of the WNY Nonprofit Support Group along with the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, ESL Charitable Foundation, the Health Foundation for Western & Central NY, John R. Oishei Foundation, Max and Marian Farash Charitable Foundation, Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, Ralph C. Sheldon Foundation, Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation, United Way of Greater Rochester, United Way of Southern Chautauqua, and the WNY Foundation, we have received a free membership to Catchafire. Catchafire is an online platform that matches nonprofit organizations and their projects with skilled, mission-minded professionals who want to support and contribute to the work of several non-profits. We have started posting projects such as a Website Usability Audit and a Data Analytics phone call to help us better understand ways to use our Safe Sleep data. We have already matched with professional volunteers to help assist us with these items. We are excited to see how much more we will be able to do to continually improve the health and wellness of the rural communities we serve.
