The Arc Receives Tennessee Community Cares Grant
|The Arc Williamson County has received a Tennessee Community Cares Grant to help individuals with disabilities and families with a family member with a disability who have been affected by COVID-19 to pay for rent/mortgage, utilities, car payments and medical health insurance payments for the months of October and November 2020. TennCare and DIDD (Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) Announce Webinar for Families on the Proposed Integration and Transformation of Long Term Services and Supports for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
|In 1992, the Tennessee General Assembly passed legislation establishing a statewide Family Support Program. Statewide funding for this program is determined by our state legislators on a yearly basis. The program is administered by the State of Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and managed in Williamson County by The Arc Williamson County. The program is designed to assist individuals with severe disabilities and their families to remain together in their homes and communities by providing financial assistance and community resource information. Services provided include but are not limited to reimbursement for day care, respite care, specialized supplies, home and vehicle modifications, and equipment.|
Applications are accepted any time throughout the year but if you are applying after March 31, and your are found eligible, you will most likely be placed on a waiting list as completed applications for the following fiscal year are due by March 31st every year. Completed applications include a completed, signed Intake Form and the necessary proofs-disability, citizenship and residency. The Intake/Application Form and our handbook can be found on our website at www.thearcwc.org or by contacting Sharon at 615-790-5815, ext. 3.

on College Application Supports
On Tuesday, October 13 from 5:30-7:00 pm CDT. Transition Tennessee will be hosting a Virtual Transition Fair on College Application Supports. During this event, college professionals will describe college admissions, disability disclosure, disability services and accommodations, and the financial aid application process across different types of postsecondary education options in Tennessee.
