USDA Distance Learning Grant
I'm pleased to announce STHCS has been awarded the fourth round of funding through the USDA Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant Program administered by the Rural Utilities Service. This federal grant of will go toward the purchase, installation, and technical support of Distance learning equipment and will expand our current network with four additional sites. The locations involved in this year's grant application are CAReS, located in Olean, ACASA, located in Wellsville, Alstar Training Center, located in Jamestown and Town of Oxford Fire Department in Chenango County. We look forward to adding more sites to our STHCS network!

Also, this coming Monday we look forward to hosting Richard Mayfield, USDA Rural Development’s New York State Director, in order to show him the technology that we have been able to install at STHCS with the help of the USDA.
Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Our partner for domestic violence is Connecting Communities in Action (CCA), formerly Cattaraugus Community Action. CCA offers victim services programs to help anyone that has been a victim of domestic violence and they have a 24 hour hotline number you can call to report domestic violence: 1-888-945-3970. Their website also has lots of information on all the services they offer.
