CEO Update
Appalachia Nonprofit Resource Center
I am excited to share that STHCS has been accepted into the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) technical assistance and training program. This program is designed to help the Region’s nonprofits successfully navigate the COVID-19 crisis. Experts will lead weekly “live” instruction specifically designed to help our organization move toward sustainabilityAlicia and I will be required to dedicate approximately 40 to 50 hours of work over the next 11 weeks towards the training program. We have been placed in a cohort with other nonprofits from across Appalachia to ensure the long-term viability of our organizations. The Center will also establish and monitor an “alumni” discussion portal so that the organizations my exchange information and provide update on their organizations course for sustainability post COVID-19.
Great American Smokeout
The Great American Smokeout through the American Cancer Society is taking place this year on November 19, 2020. This is a great day to start the journey to being tobacco and nicotine free. Some benefits of being tobacco and nicotine free include: Food begins to taste better, your hair, clothes, and breath all start to smell better, and your teeth and fingernails stop yellowing. Click here for more information about the event and find all the great resources to being tobacco and nicotine free!
