Alpacas, Baby Goats, Kettle Corn & Shanti Elixirs Here this Saturday!
Sat. Dec. 12 from 10-2  They're back!

Bring the kids…real Alpacas, Leisa’s Kettle Corn Food Truck, Amanda's Baby Goats, and Shanti Elixers will be here Saturday from 10-2!

Really cute live Alpacas from Last Penny Farm will be visiting Reems Creek Nursery from 10-2 on Sat. Dec. 12. The nursery owner's daughter, Amanda, is also bringing her adorable baby goats. In addition, Leisa’s Kettle Corn Food Truck will be here selling Kettle and Caramel Corn, Boiled Peanuts, Porkskins, Hot Chocolate & Coffee, Cinnamon-glazed Nuts and more (yum!). There are rumors that Santa Claus will be here too!

Shanti Elixirs will also be here with their seasonal Jun flavors, Jun DYI brewing kits, cultures, and all their swag! Jun is a sparkling probiotic green tea made with raw honey and has been called the “Champagne of Kombucha”.

Along with the alpacas, Erin Greene of Last Penny Farm will be bringing alpaca fiber farm goodies for sale – including hats, gloves, scarves, socks, farm-produced yarn, and bird nest balls.

Please remember your mask and practice social distancing both inside and out.
 The Winter Rose
FROM WILMA:  Lenten roses (Helleborus orientalis) bloom in late winter near the time of Lent. They are not related to roses but are so named because their buds resemble rose buds. With mostly evergreen foliage, frost resistance, and long-lasting flowers they are considered among the aristocrats of the winter garden.

Helleborus prefer semi-shade and are best planted in rich moist well-drained soil. Plant shallow and keep watered throughout fall, winter, and spring months when they are actively growing. Shear foliage after flowering and cut back on water in summer when they go dormant and become drought tolerant. They are deer resistant.

Tanya has put together a display of several varieties of Lenten roses some of which are showing color. I plan to pot some up in a winter container garden and plant others beneath a deciduous tree. Stop by today and see these amazing perennials!
