Loving greetings from locked down London
I wish you good cheer in welcomin the new year. I hope you are keeping well - and staying positive.
ff
For me, the past year has been one of workig quietly. Just before the lockdown began, I signed a contract to write a new book. So for the next few months, my life was pretty much the way it usually is when I'm writing, i.e. divided most between my practice, teaching and writing - going out a couple of times a week to get food.

The title of my book (to be published in June) is taken from the Yoga Sutra verse "Sitting Comfortably: preparing the mind and body for peaceful meditation". The content, mostly based on the 3-month Teach Meditation course, is useful to practitioners of any path of meditation, mindfulness or contemplation.

'Sitting Comfortably' is a practical book to help people develop a regular habit of meditation. I hope it will also assist those who already have a practice but find themselves confronted with physical and mental impediments to advancement. The book addresses common problems: no time; no self-discipline; keep falling asleep; too many distractions; and sitting is just too painful.

In addition to writing, I've moved most of my teaching online: good in some ways and not-so-good in others. I find it more difficult without the exchange of prana that takes place when we are sitting in the same room. However, lockdown has encouraged me to make my work available to a more international audience. Online courses are open to participants who can't be physically present in my London studio. For example, in the upcoming 'Teach Mediation' course only one participant is in the London area; the others are in Rome, Germany, Netherlands and Scotland.

Even though we have gone international, I'm keeping the classes small so that each participant gets more attention and mentoring. There is still space on the course starting on 9th Jan, if you would like to join.

The positive response to 'Teach Meditation' online has inspired me to add two more trainings for yoga teachers: one focusing on the Chakras and the other on Pranayama (see below for details).

with prayers and best wishes for your good health and happiness in this new year of 2021,

* June Retreat in the South of Spain

24-30 June

I'm planning a yoga-teachers-meditation retreat at Casa Santosha, a lovely venue that is run by Emma Brown. It accommodates only 10 people, so is the perfect size for an intimate meditation and yoga retreat. Meals are the highest quality organic vegetarian/vegan foods

Casa Santosha can be easily reached from Malaga airport, which has direct flights from the UK and other parts of Europe.
