The Arc Williamson County will be accepting applications for Family Support for the fiscal year 2021-2022 beginning February 1, 2021. A new application is required each year even if you are currently receiving services or are on the waiting list. Updated proof of residency is also required annually and a copy of a utility bill in your name at your current address dated within the last 60 days would work. If we do not have a lifelong disability letter from your physician on file then we will also need updated proof of disability dated within the last year. If you are currently receiving Family Support or are on the waiting list we will not need new proof of citizenship but if you are a new applicant, that will also be required. A copy of a birth certificate or current passport would work for that.
The current Intake/Application Form and our handbook can be found on our website at www.thearcwc.org or by contacting Sharon at 615-790-5815, ext. 3. The Intake/Application Form for 2021-2022 will be available February 1, 2021.
If you live outside of Williamson County you can call 615-532-6552 to find out what agency administers the Family Support Program in your area.
In 1992, the Tennessee General Assembly passed legislation establishing a statewide Family Support Program. Statewide funding for this program is determined by our state legislators on a yearly basis. The program is administered by the State of Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and managed in Williamson County by The Arc Williamson County. The program is designed to assist individuals with developmental or severe disabilities and their families to remain together in their homes and communities by providing financial assistance and community resource information. Services provided include but are not limited to reimbursement for day care, respite care, specialized supplies, home and vehicle modifications, and equipment.
