| The Bridge Between Winter and Spring|
|FROM WILMA: February is the shortest month but sometimes feels like the longest. It has been referred to as “the bridge between winter and spring”. We gardeners are trying to be patient as we look forward to our spring gardens.|
The calendar says it is still winter, but it is beginning to look like spring in our Farm greenhouses. Lots of early veggies are coming along, perennials are being transplanted, and some of the pansies are ready for your container gardens. A few days ago, I sorted through my leftover seeds and made lists of new ones I need (want). There is a tempting selection in the Garden Shop!
After chilly, snowy weather earlier this week there were a couple of sunny days. I took advantage of the nice weather and pulled winter weeds and mulched a shrub bed. Now is a good time to plan your spring/summer garden. It is a good idea to rotate plantings - especially tomatoes, peppers, and potatoes.
