 Future Gardeners & Nature Lovers
Serving as a “greeter” at the Garden Center this season has given me a chance to chat with many of you. Some of you have interesting comments about your gardens. We compare successes as well as disappointments as the season goes along.
It is encouraging to watch children who sometimes accompany their parents or grandparents. They often help choose plants and/or something from the children’s corner in the Gift Shop. Just a few days ago I enjoyed watching a child as she helped her grandmother pick out a plant to take to someone.
This morning a group of children from Weaverville First Baptist Church came to visit the Garden Center. Their leader had arranged for me to help them plant a flower to take with them. In addition to planting marigolds, we had fun smelling and tasting herbs, watching pollinators, and exploring the pond!
