ENERGY MEDICINE YOGA by DONNA EDEN & LAUREN WALKER
New class coming to In Balance Yoga.
Combining nine different healing energetic modalities with the practice of yoga for optimal health and well-being and to eliminate toxins to feel our best. Energy Medicine Yoga was developed by Donna Eden. Combining healing methods from China, Japan, India/Ayurveda etc. integrated into one with Yoga. Chakras, Aura work, Celtic Weave, Meridians, Radiant Circuits, Chinese 5 Elements, Grids, Triple Warmer and the Electrics.
Each Chinese Five Element is associated with a different emotion. For example:
Water - Fear
Wood - Anger
Fire - Anxiety
Earth - Compassion - Selfcare - Nurturing
Metal - Grief/Sadness
There is a practice for each of the above and one that combines all - using yoga, breath, sound, acupressure, meridian points and more. Also, there is Energy Medicine Yoga for Kids.
Join us on Saturday, 10/2 at 1:30 pm for an offering and then coming to our weekly schedule soon.

FOR YOGA TEACHER TRAINING DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP
We have been working on various diversity & inclusion initiatives for years, the details of which we will be making much more transparent in our future. The first matter we wish to bring to light is our YTT Diversity Scholarship, which we began raising funds for back in February of this year. We have opened up this fund for our community to donate to at any time, will be offering regularly scheduled donations based classes to raise funds, and will also be providing a full scholarship in our upcoming training to one of our diversity scholarship applicants. Our goal in this effort is to continue to cultivate a more diverse and representative teaching population in our area. Let us know if you are interested in

Motivation for continuing with a daily meditation practice In the past yoga schools had a rich meditation practice that has been lost in many modern traditions. This workshop is rooted in the Buddhist style of vipassana, or insight meditation. In addition we will explore walking, mantra (repetition of specific phrases) and kundalini (a style of yoga practiced to release latent energy coiled at the base of the spine) meditation practices. These techniques for expanding awareness and releasing painful mental habits are useful no matter what your religious or spiritual orientation. Gentle Yoga is a slower paced practice that is accessible to people of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels.
We will start with the most ancient forms from which Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain meditation have sprung. After learning these techniques we will explore how they can be incorporated into a modern practice and taught to our students.

OCTOBER KUNGA THEME:
The Kunga Yoga Inspiration of the month is volunteering. The heart of Kunga Yoga lies in approaching yoga as a path of service, with opportunities to view our personal practice as a time for self-inquiry and growth, so that we are more available to then serve others. All Kunga Yoga programs work to raise awareness for orphanages in developing countries. This year’s Kunga Journey fundraising volunteer service retreat is to the Home of Hope Orphanage, India.
