Wishing You a Happy New Year!

We are grateful to each and every one of you for your support throughout 2021. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Even though it is cold in January, we are busy re-setting for 2022 to provide beautiful plants and inspiration for visitors to the our Garden Center.

Many of us have embraced the natural world with our gardens serving as a place of solace and healing. Now that the solstice is behind us, each passing day is growing a little brighter and spring is quickly inching our way. Soon, the happy faces of daffodils will be popping up and spring will be upon us.

All of us at Reems Creek Nursery, both the family and the staff, wish you the very best during this brand new year - 2022. May your garden prosper and bring your joy.

In January
FROM WILMA:  The period between Christmas and New Year’s is sometimes referred to as “Twixmas” from the old English phrase “betwixt”. The last week in December 2021 was a pleasant one with warm temperatures. I enjoyed spending time outside especially getting a new area ready for a pollinator garden.

The first week in January 2022 brought winter weather along with a snow event. After some 40+ years in the horticultural field, as a longtime member of the Weaverville Tree Board, and a hoarder of gardening books/magazines and other related materials the time has come to downsize! The cold weather has been a time to do this - I have many bags of papers to recycle!

January usually brings a few pleasant days along with typical winter weather. Seeds, garden supplies, books, tropicals, gift items, and much more make the Garden Center an inspiring place to browse in winter. Some staff are attending nursery shows/seminars this month and will bring back exciting ideas. Susan is busy at the Farm along with new staff member, David Williams (welcome!). They are sowing seeds for early veggie plants.

Covid Mask Update - Masks Required Indoors

  • All people 5 years and older, regardless of vaccination status, are now required to wear a mask in all indoor public spaces in Buncombe County.
  • Details: On August 18, 2021, the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners declared a Local State of Emergency requiring residents and visitors in any indoor spaces in public spaces to maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others. Effective immediately, indoor public spaces include business establishments, offices and workplaces, public transportation facilities and vehicles, and any indoor place the public is invited and allowed to enter and gather. The order applies to all people who are at least 5 years old, and face coverings are recommended for all people over the age of 2.

Thank you for your continued consideration of other customers and our staff members. Your support during this time has been amazing and we appreciate each and every one of you.
