Once I took over as editor of this newsletter in March of 2015, I can most certainly say, there are seasons (beyond spring, summer, fall, and winter). Whether you are a follower of sports or not, you probably know we are currently in "basketball season." For lovers of live music, the effects of this season (which occurs before "patio season" starts) unfortunately mean many music venues are instead dedicated to TV screens rather than their stages. Another interesting thing about the later part of basketball season is that in some years the weather allows for patio season to start early. This year that has not happened and combined with a strong local focus on March Madness, we once again this week face a very minimally populated music calendar. Don't get me wrong....a number of your local favorite musicians ARE playing around the area in the next week or so, and basketball IS cool, but please join me in looking forward to the soon to be "patio season."
With our fundraiser ticket sales off and running, don't forget it's time to get your tickets for the April 30th event! The limited number of reserved table seats are selling quickly, so for those who prefer that option, please check out the article below to access our ticketing site on EventBrite.
One new article this week. If you haven't before, check out the Amazon Smile program when you shop for items on Amazon. This program offers a percentage of sales for verified 401c3 non-profits. We would greatly appreciate you considering contributing to Ozark Blues Society of Northwest Arkansas. Read on below to find out how!
Again a reminder, though I try to keep an ear to the ground about upcoming blues music events, please remember that our calendar is compiled using local, published, community calendars and direct submissions from artists. Unfortunately, our volunteer based weekly newsletter preparation time does not allow for visiting and/or confirming events published to Facebook or other websites, nor saving and confirming submitted artist calendars that extend more than a week beyond the date of the current newsletter. Please know Ozark Blues Society desires to support your performances and we hold the above limitations to assure fairness to all involved. For a copy of our promotional policies, or to submit upcoming events, please EMAIL SANDY.
Always remember, this is YOUR newsletter! Please send feedback or suggestions our way. You can reach me by email at the address below. We appreciate our readers and want
to see your ideas included!
