CEO Update
I would like to congratulate the City of Olean Fire Department and Chief Tim Richardson for being chosen for the CARES-UP Grant through the NYS Office of Mental Health’s Suicide Prevention Center.  CARES-UP stands for Changing the conversation, Awareness, Resilience, Empower peers, Skill building/suicide prevention for Uniformed Personnel.  The purpose of this funding is to provide 21-month grants to increase protective factors and improve mental health outcomes for uniformed personnel through participation in gatekeeper/prevention training, implementation of resiliency models and supporting an awareness campaign based on the Changing the Conversation model. We are ecstatic that OFD was selected for this opportunity and look forward to seeing the work they complete over the next 21-months
HomeCare and Hospice Paid Training Program
HomeCare and Hospice is currently recruiting for a home health aide/personal care aide training course that would hire individuals as employees and they would be compensated for their training time. Alicia and I have been working with Melissa Sulivan, President & CEO of HomeCare & Hospice and Total Senior Care and Kim Pauly, HR Manager, in assisting with recruitment for this program. There is a great need for aides in our community and it is my hope that this training program fills so that we can train individuals to become this much needed resource. I am looking forward to future collaborations with HomeCare and Hospice! If you know of someone that would be interested in the program, please have them complete our form at
