Worried about winter damaged plants?
Staff members are seeing new growth on some of their plants/branches that they thought were dead, so remain cautious about digging up and discarding any plants. Warmer soil and air temperatures help promote new growth on plants that appear to be dead, plus new growth may be pushed out from the roots (especially crape myrtle, hydrangea, and fig roots). This video was produced after the deep freeze at Christmas and discusses what to to look for.
