05/07 - New Moon in Taurus:
Unexpected Earthy Strengths and Delights
In the blooming of May, the celestial dance unfolds with a gentle new moon in the earthy, fertile and stable sign of Taurus, where the Moon and Sun are meeting at 18 degrees. The conjunction happens in close vicinity to the electrifying Uranus, and the expansive Jupiter, at 22 and 25 degrees respectively. All of them are disposed by a gentle Venus at 10 degrees of Taurus, filling the air with notes of love, beauty and eagerness to appreciate the simple yet awe-filling pleasure of springtime.

Taurus comes from Latin, and it translates as “bull and steer,” one of the most revered creatures in antiquity in Western world, often depicted on its own or with a goddess. Symbolizing the potency of creation and fertility, the bull's power and strength reverberates through the natural world and heralds the blossoming of Spring in the Northern hemisphere. Bulls ’robust physical presence reminds the very substance of the earth, while their horns shapes were often associated with the Moon.

Where I live, there is a bright shade of green that covers the grassy hills, or adorn the edges of the redwood trees, and that almost shimmers of its own light. It`s the light of creation, of liveliness. Despite all that happens in this world, this creative force reawakens and enliven our human senses, as well as the senses of the more-than-human world. Taurus is a testament to the enduring cycle of regeneration, reminding us of the cyclical dance of life and the boundless beauty of nature's embrace.

There is a gentle unpredictability in the air at this new moon, as Uranus opens the door to insights and sparks of newness. While possible annoying, or exciting, Uranus and Jupiter shine a light of innovation, that is as endearing as it`s a bit destabilizing, opening our eyes to the unexpected. But Venus presence, and Saturn in a supportive aspect to the new moon, offer the possibility to reconnect with the solid ground beneath our feet after the whirlwind intensity of April eclipse.

Harnessing the Taurus New Moon
To harness the energy of this new moon, it`s valuable to orient ourselves towards Taurus`s symbolism.  First, it`s to take the time to savor the simple yet profound pleasures of the natural world. Equally important to this season, is to orient towards what sustains us, and explore what we truly value, what ignites our passions, and what fulfills our deepest needs. This new moon cycle extends an invitation to delve into the depths of our values, both material and immaterial, and align our intentions accordingly to where we feel pulled to.

Mindful and pragmatic, Taurus ‘quality of time directs our attention towards security and the wise utilization of our energies. Accordingly, this time is right to tune into what in our life gives us nourishment and rewards our efforts. We can ask ourselves, how can we tangibly manifest our intentions and make them real? Taurus ‘gift is the capacity to manifest, for putting "flesh and bones' on an idea, and making a dream, an image, a practice, real. The time is right to ask yourself, what am I willing to manifest, to give substance to?

Moreover, Taurus is known for patience and unwavering strength, standing firm in the face of adversity without faltering. As we bask in this new lunar cycle, this time invites us to reflect on how these qualities can bolster us in tending to our intentions with patience and resilience, staying the course even when feeling discouraged.
A strong and fierce Mars transiting in its own sign of Aries, alongside Mercury which might have bring some clarity to missing info the month before, offers courage and energy to make those intentions tangible.

Those of us with planets and points between 17 and 24 of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius are likely to experience the new moon more intensely, particularly when it comes to groundbreaking and new experiences. Follow the quality of times and experiment, for the next full moon is a promising one!

05/23 - Full Moon in Sagittarius: An Encouraging Embrace

A grand and hope-filled full moon will light up the night sky on May 23rd, casting its radiant glow during some of the shortest nights of the year in the Northern hemisphere. Jupiter, at the end of its journey through Taurus, is joined by Venus at 29 degrees, in close proximity to the Sun at 3 degrees of Gemini. This trio, or stellium, will face the Moon in larger-than-life, fiery Sagittarius. On the 26th, Jupiter will embark on a new chapter as it enters Gemini, initiating a year-long journey (more on this next month.) Adding depth and intensity to this full Moon is Pluto transiting in early Aquarius and making a supportive aspect to the Moon.

Sagittarius is akin to a fiery beacon of optimism. Symbolized by the archer, it invites us to fix our gaze on the horizon calling our attention to new journeys and destinations. With Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, in conjunction with Venus, this full moon is graced by the presence of the greater benefic, as they were known in antiquity, bestowing blessings upon our earthly endeavors.  Perhaps what we yearn for is a fresh infusion of hope, a stroke of serendipity, or the uplifting encouragement from a friend (Gemini), sparking vibrant conversations that reignite our beliefs. Or perhaps, facing a time of hardship, the quality of time of this full moon offers us a supportive shoulder on to which we can lay on for reassurance.

At its best, Jupiter 's prominence during this full moon heralds a resurgence of faith, offering us a vision beyond our trials and opportunity to learn from our experiences and “miss-takes.”  And be reminded to pick ourselves up again, as we continue this mysterious, wild journey that is life on our precious planet.

Wishing peace to all, especially those yearning for its embrace.
