Hello Friends - It is 45 degrees and cloudy one day, 75 and sunny the next and my eyes are watering. It must be Spring! Beyond the crazy weather and allergies, that means great racing opportunities lie ahead and we are ready.
We have already had two great events with record participation: The Land and Lakes Relay and Asheville Catholic Shamrock Races went spectacularly and we are hopeful the increased participation means we will have many full races the rest of the year.
And now for some news.

Last week, we announced our newest Enduro mountain bike race - The Downhill Dog Enduro, Presented by Sarge's Animal Rescue, on August 23 at Chestnut Mountain Park in Canton, NC. This will be a fun day of downhill racing on four designated trails with food and festivities to follow. We are only allowing for 150 riders in the first year and we anticipate it will sell out well before race day. Check it out HERE and reserve your spot at the start line.

Next Up - Haw Creek Hustle
|
We are excited to bring this fun community event back for a second year. Haw Creek is a neighborhood in East Asheville with a ton of spirit and civic pride and this 5K and Fun Run allows the community to show off. Everything is based at Charlie Pullman Park with the Fun Run held on the trails of neighboring Evergreen Charter School and the 5K in the surrounding neighborhoods. This is a fun event for the entire family.

The Geyser Growl Half Marathon will return on October 18 this year after having to be cancelled last year due to the damage caused by Hurricane Helene. As a reminder, everyone who was registered for the 2024 event is automatically registered for this year, unless you told us otherwise. That means if you were registered for 2024, you need to make plans, aka train, to run in October. If that doesn’t fit your plans, please let us know by email (greg@gloryhoundevents.com) so we don’t expect you.
If you didn’t register for 2024, we would love to have you this year as this is one of the most fun races we do all year. The race begins at beautiful Lake Tomahawk in Black Mountain and finishes at Hillman Beer in Old Fort, where hot soup and cold beer and other drinks await you at the finish line.
