Join us for this family-friendly rite of renewal, including
storytelling around the fire, a potluck feast, and an

optional walk through our forest to Woodard Creek, where we will honor the Spirit of Salmon with a ritual

Open Your Heart to Salmon's Spirit, Generosity and Wisdom

In August 2020, Grandfather Fire gave Olympia Sacred Fire two special stories:

The Sacred Story of Salmon and Humans

and
How Salmon Teach People to Live a Good Life

As the Sun rises higher in the Sky each morning, and the great Spring King Chinooks make their way upriver to their spawning grounds, it's time to share these wisdom tales with everyone in a celebration!

Reserve your spot for this special event
so we can prepare for you.

Come for a mid-day fire event.  Arrive at 11:00 am.

We'll begin with the storytelling and marvel at the generosity, strength and purpose of the Salmon People and their gift to the human and other-than-human beings in the South Salish Sea.

Then around noon, enjoy a Potluck Lunch around the fire.

We'll enjoy a specially prepared Salmon from your hosts. Please bring a delicious lunch entrée, side dish or dessert item for this special Celebratory Feast.

After our Potluck meal, everyone is invited on the Ritual outing
to return the bones of the Salmon people to Woodard Creek, which flows to the Salish Sea at the Woodard Bay estuary. This is a short, level-ish, quarter-mile walk through the second-growth forest and meadow that separates the Sacred Fire House grounds from Woodard Creek.

When we arrive, we will re-enact the Original Agreement between the Salish Sea Salmon People and the Human People as told in the Sacred Story of Salmon and Human People.

Depending on our group's pace, this outing will take 45-60 minutes, and marks the close of our time together.

Please reserve your spot for this special event
so we can prepare for you.

Your Hosts
In 2001, Peter and Sharon Brown were initiated as Granicero, Weather Workers, in the Nahua tradition of Mexico's central highlands. For over 20 years, they regularly perform ceremonies that build and balance relationship between the human people, Earth, and Sky beings for the mutual benefit of all our relations.

In 2004-5, they both made life-long commitments to hold sacred fire circles monthly. Trained and initiated as firekeepers by Sacred Fire International, they received permission from the Huichol peoples (Mexico) to hold sacred space using a traditional fire consecration ceremony. Sacred Fire transforms lives through the gift and medicine of Fire (sacredfire.org).

In 2008, Peter received his first of two initiations as a Mara' akame, a healer in the tradition of the Huichol Indians of the Sierra Madres. Both he and Sharon are Tepahtiani, traditional Nahua healers; after an 8-year apprenticeship, Peter received his full initiation in 2022; Sharon is currently completing her Tepahtiani apprenticeship. In 2019, Sharon received her Certificate in Process Work and opened her spiritual counseling practice Following Heart.
