How Does Fire Speak?

There's no other experience like sitting around a sacred fire and listening to the words of Tatewari, the Spirit of Fire.

The Axihuatakamé:
A Divine Voice Among Us

In the rich tapestry of Mexico's Huichol Indian tradition, a profound spiritual role exists:  the axihuatakamĂ©, or "god-speaker-man."  Those chosen by Spirit to serve as a traditional oracle enter an other-worldly state that bridges the human and divine and allows a deity to speak directly with people.

For over 25 years, during special ceremonial gatherings called Fire Speaks, Grandfather Fire has been conversing through god-speaker-man don David Wileya respected elder of two Mesoamerican indigenous traditions— those of the the Huichol (WixarikĂą) and Nahua peoples.

You are invited to experience this profound event for yourself. On Saturday, August 16th, Grandfather Fire will be answering audience questions at the Olympia Sacred Fire House in northeast Olympia. Nestled on 10 wooded acres just 2 miles from downtown, this private venue borders 40 acres of forested open space adjacent to Woodard Creek.

In this tranquil setting, you're invited to ask Grandfather Fire questions about things that matter to you and your life. The answers can burn through thick fogs of fear and uncertainty, awakening us to possibilities beyond our perceived limits. The wisdom shared often lights a new perspectives on old challenges and ignites a path to deeper understanding of ourselves and our world.
