The Orgasm Attunement Paradox
|
The Be Fully Alive Podcast
The qualities that makes sex truly fulfilling and expansive—mutual pleasure, connection, intimacy, the feeling that we are one—are things we access rather than achieve.
Aspects of ourselves we open to—rather than effort towards.
To open, we must first attune.
I happen to believe this is what we love most about sex.
Those moments of being so fully together it's as if we are riding waves of love—together.
When we are attuned with ourselves and our partner our heart rate variability synchronizes. Breathing entrains. Mirror neurons fire—and we feel our lover's pleasure in our own body.
Dissolving self-other boundaries.
Two of us in resonance, amplifying each other, creating a feedback loop where your pleasure increases mine and mine increases yours.
The experience, all of it, becomes exponential.
Attunement is presence. Sensing my partner instead of falling into familiar sexual scripts and habits.
Slowing down. Speeding up. Eye contact. Touch. Feeling. Our breathing naturally in sync.
We are here—together.
No space between us.

"I am too alone in the world, and not alone enough to make every minute holy. I am too tiny in this world, and not tiny enough just to lie before you like a thing, shrewd and secretive.
I want my own will, and I want simply to be with my will, as it goes toward action, and in the silent, sometimes hardly moving times when something is coming near, I want to be with those who know secret things or else alone.
I want to be a mirror for your whole body, and I never want to be blind, or to be too old to hold up your heavy and swaying picture. I want to unfold.
I don’t want to stay folded anywhere, because where I am folded, there I am a lie.
And I want my grasp of things true before you. I want to describe myself like a painting that I looked at closely for a long time, like a saying that I finally understood, like the pitcher I use every day, like the face of my mother, like a ship that took me safely through the wildest storm of all."

 | Episode 274 . Synchronized Breathing
|
The Be Fully Alive Podcast
This practice is different from every practice we've done so far.
This is a partner practice.
In this practice we'll explore new ways to attuned to our partner's inner world—their breathing rhythm, their tension or relaxation, their emotional landscape.
First, breath.
Then, touch.
Then, eye contact.
Discovering responsiveness.
Spontaneity.
Riding the waves of pleasure and intimacy together.
Merging with one another—completely.

 | Episode 275 . Claire And Luke Try Morning
|
The Be Fully Alive Podcast
It's Saturday morning, 7:15am.
Claire has been awake for twenty minutes, watching Luke sleep.
They've been together eight years. Married for five.
And she's about to ask him for something she's never asked for before.
"I want to try making love right now, while we're still waking up."
It's awkward at first.
Morning breath. No shower. Daylight. No wine, no buildup, no familiar nighttime routine.
They try synchronized breathing just to get present. Then they touch each other. Slowly. Exploratory. No goal.
Claire shares with Luke what she really needs. Shows him. They share what's actually happening for both of them.
That night at the collective, Claire shares with the group.
"It was the first time I felt completely safe to just be myself during sex. To not perform. To not manage Luke's experience. To just be there 100%."
Listen to their story and discover what becomes possible when Claire and Luke (and all of us) tell our lover the truth.
