In fact, I bet your hands are listening right now – to the shape of your phone and your choice to hold it in front of you so you can read, to the weight and temperature of the tea you might be drinking, or perhaps to the comfort that your arm or neck might need as something itches or aches. They listen and respond almost immediately by tending to what we need.
But this isn’t all that they could do. If we engage them in conversation, listen to their voice, it opens a whole other world of possibilities!
The voice of our hands can allow us to express anywhere from the simplest, most essential truths about the moment we’re in, to the deepest ancestral wisdom held in the bones of our bones.
Through the voice of our hands, we can heal ourselves and each other, we can connect to the clarity we’ve been waiting for, and we can begin to unleash our soul’s truest expressions.
In this learning ceremony, we gather in sound, movement, drawing, and shamanic dream journey to attune to the innate intelligence of our hands, one of our most trusted companions.
This online gathering is open to everyone, no experience required. Please be in a space where you can feel safe to be in a meditative state and set it up in ways that allow you to explore some light movement. Bring a notebook and a pen if you’d like to keep a record of your insights.
An important note: this is for all bodies and bodies are diverse. If yours do not have hands the way we typically understand it, hands will mean any part/s of your body that you use to touch, reach out, or be in contact with the world.
This is the first event under Your Body Speaks, which is a series of offerings that facilitates somatic awareness and listening, deepens one's relationship with their body, and creates an opening for a practice of self-intimacy, one body part at a time.
