Coming Home . A Love Letter To Balance
"We all carry the potential to realize, in real time, that the vibrant energy we experience
when we feel truly loved, seen and met, is who we actually are." Dawn Cartwright
June 26th - 28th . Commune Topanga
Coming Home . NeoTantra Retreat For Singles & Couples

It's 9:47pm. You're finally horizontal. The person you love most in the world is right there next to you just being their warm, loving and super attractive selves. And somewhere in the approximately four seconds between your head meeting the pillow and full unconsciousness, a tiny negotiation takes place.

Connect — or sleep?

If we're single — the negotiation sounds a little different. Make love to myself — or click my Invisalign into place and call it a night. Invisalign wins. Every time. We don't even miss fueling our inner flame anymore. We're beyond exhausted.

It's not because we don't want connection — with our partner, with ourselves, with the aliveness we know is in there somewhere. It's because we've been burning the candle at both ends for weeks — maybe months — and we feel like we have less than nothing left. To give. Or even to receive.

We talk about balance the way we talk about sleep — something we know we need, something we keep meaning to get more of, something that feels just out of reach by the time we think to reach for it. We schedule it. We optimize for it. We download apps about it. And still, we're often running on fumes and good intentions.

Underneath all of that — underneath the exhaustion and the overscheduling and the 9:47pm negotiations — there is something else. A longing most of us carry quietly and rarely say out loud. To bring something sacred into our relationships. Into our bedrooms. To have our most intimate moments feel like more than a transaction between two tired people — for those moments to feel — like a doorway to the most naked parts of ourselves. Where nothing is urgent. And we touch the sweetest aspects of each other and life.

We know it's possible. We've felt it — in glimpses, in memories, in moments that arrived unexpectedly and left us wondering how to find our way back. What most of us need isn't more information about how to get there. We need time. Space. A break in the relentless forward motion long enough for something deeper to rise.

Balance isn't a destination. It isn't a morning routine or a productivity system or even a really good night's sleep. (Though we will absolutely not be turning down a really good night's sleep.) Balance is what happens when we stop managing our lives from the neck up and come back into the full intelligence of the body. When we breathe — really breathe. When we let ourselves be touched and actually feel it. When we remember, even briefly, that we are not a to-do list. We are living, sensing, deeply relational human beings — and connection nourishes us, deeply.

Coming Home is a weekend designed for that remembering.

June 26th through 28th at Commune Topanga — ten acres of oak trees, organic gardens, and meandering paths in the Santa Monica Mountains, less than an hour from Los Angeles and another world entirely. We'll breathe together, move together, sit in circle, share meals cooked from the finest local farmers at a common table. We'll explore what it means to give and to receive — not as a workshop exercise, but as a genuine return to something we value and long for. We'll wake up our bodies. We'll open to the land and let the land do what the land does whenever we take the time to settle in and feel.

Sauna. Hot tub. Plunge pool. Trails through the Santa Monica Mountains. Stargazing. The kind of unhurried morning that reminds us this is what we love - that every morning can truly be like this. Abundant and available when we are connected to ourselves. In balance.

Songwriter Neil Young lived on this land for many years and said it inspired some of his best work. I know it will inspire the best in us as well.

All practices are taught fully clothed. There is no nudity, no sexual contact between participants. Every practice may be engaged solo or with a partner. No prior experience needed — only a willingness to arrive. And perhaps a willingness to finally, gloriously, sleep.

The early early bird rate closes this Wednesday, April 1st. I invite you to jump in before the moment has passed.

Coming Home . June 26th - 28th . NeoTantra Retreat For Singles & Couples

Commune Topanga sits on ten acres of meandering paths, oak trees, and organic gardens at the end of a road in a remote valley of the Santa Monica Mountains — less than an hour from the heart of Los Angeles, and another world entirely.

Guests sleep on organic mattresses and linens in charming A-frame glamping cabins, private tea house rooms, and intimate guest quarters — each space thoughtfully designed for two. Bathrooms are shared among kindred spirits, inviting the kind of unhurried morning encounters that remind us we are part of something larger than ourselves.

Every meal is home-cooked from the bounty of LA's finest local farmers, shared together at a common table. Sauna, hot tub, and plunge pool are yours during free time — along with the trails, gardens, and quiet corners that seem to hold their breath and wait for you.

From Those Who Have Experienced My Work
Coming Home . June 26th - 28th . NeoTantra Retreat For Singles & Couples

While Coming Home is a brand new immersive experience, I've been passionate about NeoTantra for years. A few voices from those who have joined me so far.

I was so in awe after my experience. I literally was a different person afterward. I learned about my energy that was — and is — always present within me. This is an amazing weekend, very fun, sacred and awakening. I felt overflowing with life, love and joy for the present moment. — Karen

I left feeling energized and hopeful — not just about sex, but about new, more connected and embodied ways of relating in general. — Brendan
