Wisconsin NEV Amendment clears committee on 7-0 vote!

Assembly Bill 339 and Senate Bill 186 are awaiting placement on the Wisconsin Legislature agenda for approval. The amendment requires the WISDOT to register and license NEV's. Currently, each municipality that passes an NEV ordinance must register NEV's. Passage of this amendment, which does not appear to have any opposition, will make it easier for NEV ordinances to be passed throughout Wisconsin. It is anticipated this amendment will come up for approval this fall or next spring at the latest. We have been told that once this amendment is passed that the State of Wisconsin will then work on enacting a statewide NEV law that will allow NEV's to be driven anywhere in the state.
