April 14, 2008, We invite you and your students to a one of kind theatre experience!
A Hip Hop Story (THE MUSICAL)

"A Hip Hop Story" is a multi-media drama told through characters the Lady of Hip Hop, the Old School Rapper, and the Angel of Hip Hop about the degeneration of the inner city in American Society in the most honest and compelling way that popular culture will allow for young audiences. It's about how horrible it is to be poor and hopeless in America today. This musical is a social commentary born upon the back of a group of silenced youth and the cycle of the American dream abandoned, the future generation of the inner city betrayed. The characters storytelling through rap, hip-hop poetry, dance, drumming, and spoken word depicts the future of our cities, the ease with which a child can cut school and embrace violence is a tragedy everyone pays for. Intersected in this musical drama are the backdrops of urban decay, poverty, education, and the power of words revealing redemption! A Hip Hop Story is inspirational in its performance of hip hop music as a tool of transformation and positive reinforcement for cultural awareness for young urban audiences. At the stunning finale this interactive performance will include a live MC battle and dance competition involving your students!
