CALLING ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS! GOT A COVER SHOT?

The BLUES FESTIVAL GUIDE Magazine team is now gearing up for the 2008 annual issue.

We’re searching for a vertical, hi-resolution, outdoor shot for our cover that is colorful and sharp and gives the feeling of festival, fun, music, etc… one that imparts the essence of the Blues festival vibe. If your photo is selected you will be a published photographer in the largest Blues Festival Guide magazine in the United States-- the 2006 recipient of the Blues Foundation’s "Keeping The Blues Alive" Award for Print Media! If chosen, your photo will not be used for any purpose without written permission.
Email examples ASAP to our editor at Michele@BluesFestivalGuide.com or mail hard copies to:
BFG Editor c/o 12073 Callado Rd, San Diego, CA 92128. A web link also works well for viewing if available.
Note: Only the cover shot will receive compensation. Photos are also being considered to use within the magazine articles as needed. Credit is given in the masthead and next to published photos.
Thanks in advance.

BUCK69 : : When She Whispers Your Name

Get out your air guitar for these 14 new electric blues and roots rock songs buy the father and son band BUCK69. It's like Bob Seger meeting Jonny Lang in a juke joint to talk about Eric Clapton.

BUCK69 is a father and son blues/rock band mixing together the old and the new with a bang. With three members over the age of 45 and 5 members under the age of 30, BUCK69 is influenced by more than three generations of music. They are influenced by who, what, where, when and how their everyday lives start and end! Music is BUCK69's way to express their inner feelings. To cement in history the people, places and things that affect the bands lives. Be it happy or sad, life or death. They write about what carry's them down life's highway. Always in search of that one song! Because: "Great singers, writers and musicians will come and go, but a great song lives forever".

In 2002 after a short sabbatical to concentrate on wife, kids and career, Tom Clawson formerly of "T.C. Rogers & The Blue's Hamilton Band" 1970's Warren, OH. (Singer-Songwriter-Guitar) along with his oldest son Alex Clawson from the band "BHB" Toledo, OH (Singer-Songwriter-Guitar) decided to start playing out as an acoustic duo. Playing originals and covers in and around the local Toledo, Ohio area. In June of 2004, persuaded by his son, the decision was made to go with a full band. The band offers a diverse ageless genre of "Electric Blues and Roots Rock".

BIG GEORGE BROCK : : Live at Seventy Five

After a summer of festival dates and overseas touring, 75-year-old bluesman Big George Brock has released his first live album ever. Entitled LIVE AT SEVENTY FIVE, it marks Brock's fourth release on the Cat Head Presents label.

"Yeah, I guess you could call it seventy five years in the making," said Brock from his current home in St. Louis. "I put everything I have into this recording. Everything I've been through. Man, you just don't know. I was ready to make this record."

Recorded live at Clarksdale's world-famous Ground Zero Blues Club on May 12th of this year, the CD features a mix of Brock originals and classic blues covers from many of the legendary bluesmen he played with back in the day -- including songs by Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf.

Brock grew up at a cotton plantation just outside Clarksdale, Mississippi. Through the years, he's been lucky enough to share stage or studio with the likes of Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Jimmy Reed, Albert King, Hubert Sumlin, Steven Seagal, Watermelon Slim and others.

Brock's "Live At Seventy Five" is available now at record stores via Burnside Distribution Corporation. It can also be previewed and purchased on the web at www.CDbaby.com, iTunes and www.Amazon.com. Brock's biography, tour dates and more are available at www.cathead.biz.
