Seven Sacred Rivers Mantra
om gaṅge ca jamune caiva godāvari sarasvati |
narmade sindhu kāveri jale'asmin sannidhiṁ kuru ||
Om the Ganges, Jamuna, Godavari, Sarasvati, Narmada, Sindhu and Kaveri, these waters (of the seven sacred rivers of the Indian Subcontinent) are brought together (in order to make the water sacred, a reflection of both the wonders of the external waters of Earth and the internal rivers, the nadis, of our spiritual bodies).
This mantra is used during our Kali Puja to bless water that is used during the ceremony. Use it to bless all water you may have for any ritual use, even in the daily karmic meditations of your spiritual life, such as when taking a bath. You may also wish to use it prior to drinking water to imbue it with sacred intention.
This mantra naturally draws us closer to our spiritual nature by charging the nadis, or internal rivers, of our pranic bodies.

*Community Kali Puja (2/24) Join us for an evening of transformative and heartfelt devotion in San Francisco! See above for details. If you can't join us physically, join us in spirit by lighting a candle and practicing this month's mantra (5:30pm - 8:00pm).
*Imbolc (2/2) Rejoice in this special day, as it signifies the return of the light and the increasing warmth of the sun in the coming days. This holy day, sacred to the Goddess Brigid, is a time to reflect upon the lessons you were given during the darker winter months. It is also a time to plant new internal seeds for what you would like to begin to grow in your life in the upcoming spring. In doing this, take time for deep introspection...be with what sheds as Brigid's luminous wisdom provides the clarity you didn't have before. Allow yourself to be uncomfortable. Movement through only comes when you lose attachment and allow yourself to fully see. Gratitude to you, Queen Brigid, for your wise ways and guidance out of the winter months.
*Basant Panchami (2/11) Celebrate this day, also known as Saraswati Puja, by praying to Saraswati Maa for Her Divine inspiration. Saraswati is the Hindu Goddess of knowledge, wisdom, and the arts. This is a very special day indeed because it is also Her birthday! The color yellow holds a special significance to Saraswati Maa. In India, She is lovingly adorned in yellow saris and offered yellow-hued sweets and meats as part of Her worship on this day. An auspicious day for education and learning, children are often taught to say their first words in honor of Her. Stagnation in your creative flow? Need some help with buckling down on your studies? Call upon the Divine Mother Saraswati for motivation and creative magick with the Sanskrit mantra, Aum Aim Saraswatyai Namah!
