Arriba Arriba Andele' Cuatro de Mayo

Hi ,

It's May 4th (Cuatro de Mayo!) and I asked myself: HEY, WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO ON Cuatro de Mayo, Jillia? (I call myself that now because of my next book).

[optional: play sentimental music as you read this]

And I answered:  This is what I want to do. I want to tell a lot of people that I love them because they are who they are and our paths crossed even if it’s a cyber path and that's, like, really fly (a teenage slang term for "cool") because there's a lot of people that won't cross my path (nor I theirs) in this lifetime that I would probably like and I hate that they are left out at this moment but they'll get over it I’m sure and I will too, but maybe I’ll see them later but as for YOU, gosh you're fly and wonderful and I don't know what you're doing in MY path but I wish you would wipe your feet because someone is leaving some awful scuff marks that don’t even come out with spit but don't let that take away from the fact that every one of you has contributed to the delight of my life even if you’re simply a subscriber and for that reason I want to take this moment and tell you… but first a word from the child:

1. No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats.
2. When your mom is mad at your Dad, don't let her brush your hair.
3. If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second person.

I want to tell you  THANK YOU for being there.. wherever you are.

Creative Fuel from the Modern Day Muses

The Muses are here today to fortify your creative soul. Sometimes just reading a few words can shift us back to our authentic selves and our sacred purposes... creative ones.  The Shadow Muse is in a bad mood so she's out slashing the tires of people who throw cigarette butts out of their car window - best we just go on without her.

The next Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaching Certification training begins this August 2010. Become a Creativity Coach, a creativity liberation fighter.. the most compassionate, intuitive, ingenious kind. Click here. Limited enrollment.

Beam over to the Awe-manac Blog for some creative May fun where you actually come up with clever stuff quickly.. Come on, you know you want to.

Here is an interview with the Muse Lull and Molly Anderson Childs.

The Muse is IN Writing Club is accepting members. Join. There are prompts all over the Internet.. why pay to have them sent to you? Because when there's an exchange of energy like money.. you pay energy in return to your writing. Ask the members! You get two a week and you get published when you send in your responses.

The Muse Audacity masquerades as Steve Martin in this piece of advice:
Writer's block is a fancy term made up by whiners so they can have an excuse to drink alcohol. Sure, a writer can get stuck for a while, but when that happens to a real author-say, a Socrates or a Rodman- he goes out and gets an "as told to.
The alternative is to hire yourself out as an "as heard from," thus taking all the credit. The other trick I use when I have a momentary stoppage is virtual- ly foolproof, and I'm happy to pass it along. Go to an already published novel and find a sentence that you absolutely adore. Copy it down in your manuscript. Usually, that sentence will lead you to another sentence, and pretty soon your own ideas will start to flow. If they don't, copy down the next sentence in the novel. You can safely use up to three sentences of someone else's work-unless you're friends, then two. The odds of being found out are very slim, and even if you are there's usually no jail time.    -Steve Martin, June 24 & July 1, 1996

From Muse Song:
This has been circulating all over the place so you've probably seen it.. but it's worth seeing again. Singing puppies to sleep.

Did I hear you ask about my next book?  It's hatching as we speak. It's on how that wondrous, beloved creative process we are obsessed with keeps us young and how piling on the years can be a good thing for creativity. Sound good? Hear more on a free call this Thursday. sign up here

BTW: Last month's free call WAS announced early for those who got the SECOND notice late and wrote me mean letters.. well they weren't that mean.. but I'm highly sensitive and also a little paranoid and maybe sort of dramatic so that's how I labeled them.. and that's okay. The newsletter service was having slow problems for the second notice. The call WAS recorded and here is it.. or "it is" if you're not dyslexic.

Dancing in Limbo: Jill Allison Bryan, Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coach

I had the honor of attending Jill Allison Byran's CD Release party in March in Dallas at the most whimsical venue on the planet. I'm so proud that she is also a KMCC coach. If you like heart-felt music a lot like that of Jewel, you will love Jill's new CD. Support this incredibly lovable musician.

Jill Allison Bryan (known in KMCC circles as the “other Jill B”)

Singer/songwriter, entertainer, writer, creativity coach and founder of “Creative Oasis Coaching™” & the “Mid-Life Oasis™” blog

In 2006, while sailing the stormy seas of overwhelm and procrastination, the universe threw Jill a serendipitous lifeline with a connection to Jill Badonsky who became her creativity coach. Jill (Bryan) found her way back to the satisfying shores of creative fulfillment by finally writing and performing music again, thereby creating her Mid-life Oasis™. (Her theory being that an oasis is so much nicer than a crisis!) Wanting to share this amazing process with other poor souls lost in the seas of self-sabotage, Jill became a certified KMCC coach herself and founded “Creative Oasis Coaching.” As someone whose life was positively transformed by the creativity coaching experience, Jill brings an authentic energy and passion to her practice and, indeed, practices what she preaches.

Most recently Jill released her solo CD debut, “Dancing In Limbo” and celebrated by creating and hosting a fundraising event called “Infinite Possibility – A Night of Music, Art & Women Helping Women” in Dallas, Texas on March 27th that raised over $10,000 to benefit Women for Women International.  Here’s the coolest part – Jill asked 13 female artists to each create and donate an original piece of art inspired by one of the 13 songs on her CD to put into a silent auction for the event and Jill Badonsky was one of those amazing artists! Everything has come full circle and it’s smooth sailing.
