Catch RJ Mischo and his Red Hot Blues Band tonight at George's Happy Hour - 6pm
RJ's latest CD "Make It Good" on Delta Groove records was just chosen #26 on th Living Blues Top 50 Albums of the Year 2012.
If you like the Chicago Blues sound of Muddy Waters, Little Walter and Howlin' Wolf... Don't miss this show.
Samantha Fish will also be at George's tonight. She will be appearing in the lounge starting a 7pm
Just a few months ago, very few people outside Kansas City, Missouri knew there was a young, dynamic musician named Samantha Fish getting ready to take the world by storm. In fact, it's not all that long ago that the 22-year-old singer/guitarist first discovered the blues and started paying her dues on that city's local scene. With Runaway, her solo debut, she now breaks out big time, announcing herself as a newcomer to be reckoned with.
Grégoire Maret Quartet
March 16 at 7 & 9pm
Walton Arts Center's Starr Theater
Grégoire Maret’s skill on the harmonica has earned him comparisons to Baron “Toots” Thielemans and Stevie Wonder. He has performed and recorded with numerous well-known jazz artists including Cassandra Wilson, Herbie Hancock and former Starrlight Jazz series performers Gretchen Parlato and Sean Jones. Maret’s African-American mother and Swiss jazz-musician father provided him with a diverse musical background. His sound combinines jazz, soul and Brazilian influences into a serene and lyrical hybrid sound. After touring with the Pat Metheny Group in 2005, he received a Grammy® Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album. He then joined with world-class bassist Marcus Miller on a two-year tour before joining Herbie Hancock’s band

2013 is proving to be another busy (and challenging) year for OBS with many events and developments in the works.
We just came back from the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, where our local Blues Challenge Winners performed extremely well, we just launch a new and imporved website and we've got the 2013 Blues in the Natural State Music Festival coming up in a few weeks.
We are working with several local organiations to bring more Blues to you and the community.
This fall we'll have another Blues Challenge and we are working setting up our 3rd annual artist in residency program.
Of course throughout the year we'll be promoting the music, the local venues bringing you the music and the people who play the music, whether they play on the local, regional, national or international stage.
Help us make it happen!
