In Celebration of Black Music Month!
This year is the 90th anniversary year of Dexter Gordon's birth.
It is an honor that his wife, Maxine Gordon, impresario, music scholar and historian in her own right, has chosen to visit with us here in Northwest Arkansas to celebrate the great legacy of Dexter Gordon.
The Event takes place at The Rogers Public Library on June 25 at 6:30pm. It will be a wonderful evening!
The following night, June 26... It's a Jazz Jam Takeover! In celebration of Black Music Month, a FULL ON Jazz Jam Session will take place a Fresco Cafe & Pub with Ms. Maxine Gordon in attendance.
Some of the greatest musicians in Arkansas will be showcased! House band: Claudia Burson (piano), Drew Packard (Bass), Justin Hamby (sax), Anthony Ball (drums) with Special Guest- Sasha Daltonn.
