We seem to be experiencing a bit of a calm in activity before a storm of music festivals arrives in our region next month.
As you can see, our live music calendar in Northwest Arkansas is a bit sparse this week. However, the weekend does kick off the first installation of the 15th Annual KUAF Summer Jazz Series featuring Bob Dorough at The Walton Arts Center in Fayettville and of course, many local favorites are also appearing at various venues.
Next month a virtual storm of music festivals arrives starting with The Jackson Rhythm and Blues Festival in Jackson, MI on August 16 - 17, The Fayetteville Roots Festival on August 22 - 25, The Howlin' Wolf Memorial Blues Festival in West Point, MS on August 30, The Spa City Blues Festival in Hot Springs, AR on August 31 - September 1, The Dusk Til Dawn Blues Festival in Rentiesville, OK on August 30 - September 1, The Big Muddy Blues Festival in St. Louis, MO on August 31 - September 1 followed by the Greater Ozarks Blues Festival on September 6 and 7 in Springfield, MO and of course The 28th Annual King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena, AR on October 10 - 12.
Every single one of these festivals has a tremendous lineup and all are within driving distance from Northwest Arkansas.
