Greetings! The Dmitri Matheny Group 2014 Tour is in full swing, including over 100 concerts, club appearances and workshops. This month: an extended tour of Michigan, with performances in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Traverse City and Kalamazoo, and master classes at colleges and high schools all across the state. Just ahead: summer shows in New Mexico, Washington, Oregon, California, Hawaii, Arizona, Idaho and Colorado, and fall CD Release Celebration events throughout the USA. Join us!
Thursday, April 17 at 8:00 pm The Dmitri Matheny Group will showcase their popular Jazz Noir program, offering a fresh spin on familiar movie themes from film noir, spy thrillers and underworld crime dramas, plus a selection of new works and jazz classics. Kerrytown Concert House, located in the historic Kerrytown neighborhood of Ann Arbor, is the house where magic happens in the arts. Sunday, April 27 at 1:30 pm The Dmitri Matheny Group featuring Renee Patrick headlines the 33rd Annual Duet Cabaret at Montelucia Resort & Spa. Jazz Improvisation Workshops As part of his 2014-15 touring season, Dmitri Matheny presents Melodic Mastery jazz improvisation workshops for aspiring musicians. Based on the teachings of his mentor, jazz legend Art Farmer (photo), Matheny advocates a lyrical, melodic approach to jazz.
