Greetings, Flugelfans! Today marks the midyear, halfway point in our 100-city, 2014 tour. So far the Dmitri Matheny Group has staged 72 concerts and workshops in communities throughout the USA. Thanks to all of you for coming out to hear and support the band. We love you! Here's what's next:
NEW ALBUM NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER

Dmitri Matheny's album Sagebrush Rebellion is now available for preorder at www.DmitriMatheny.com.

Matheny's tenth album as a leader is scheduled for international release August 9 on the Papillon Recordings/BluePort Jazz label.

Recorded live, Sagebrush Rebellion captures Matheny at his lyrical best, with the stellar rhythm section of Nick Manson piano, Justin Grinnell bass and Duncan Moore drums. The all-star quartet showcases new originals, classics by Johnny Burke and Duke Ellington, and favorite selections by Charlie Haden, Steve Swallow and Nat Adderley.

Sunday, July 6 at 2:00 pm The Dmitri Matheny Group's popular Jazz Noir program offers a fresh spin on familiar TV and movie themes (spy thrillers and crime dramas), including Matheny's original Crime Scenes suite and a Noir Medley of cinematic favorites. WORKSHOPS
Melodic Mastery As part of his 2014 touring season, Dmitri presents jazz improvisation workshops for aspiring musicians. Based on the teachings of his mentor, jazz legend Art Farmer (photo), Matheny advocates a lyrical, melodic approach to jazz. Just ahead: a workshop at Great Basin Jazz Camp Ontario OR (7/14).
