What is CBD Oil?
There has been alot of talk on medical marijuana and hemp products (CBD) so I wanted to take a moment to give you some information on the products.

I am creating 2 versions for you to read:
First, the Short Version just gives you what you need to know.

Second, the Scientific Version, gives you more about the make-up of hemp and lots of scientific information if you prefer more information
CBD Oil
(Short version)
Marijuana (Hemp) has two natural compounds found in plants of the Cannabis genus, CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol).

THC is the compound that gets you "high"
CBD is the medicinal part of the plant and does not get you "high"

CDB Oil products have very high CBD percentages and very low THC percentage (most are at 0.3% or lower).  It varies with each product so you want to make sure to go with the lowest THC percentage.

Summary:  CBD Oil with high CBD and low THC will not get you high but allow you to tap into the medicinal benefits of hemp
New Product:  CBD Oil
(Scientific Version)

What is CBD Oil?
Marijuana (Hemp) has two natural compounds found in plants of the Cannabis genus.

CBD (cannabidiol) is found primarily in extractions from the hemp plant. It’s sold in gels, gummies, oils, supplements, extracts, and more.

THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the main psychoactive compound in marijuana. It can be consumed by smoking marijuana. It’s also available in oils, edibles, tinctures, capsules, and more.

Both compounds interact with your body’s endocannabinoid system but they have very different effects.

The body has a vital and vast receptor system called the Endocannabinoid system (ECS).  The Endocannabinoid System is possibly the most valuable biological system in maintaining human health and function.  The ECS contains cannabinoid receptors. There are two main types of receptors, cannabinoid 1 (CB1) and cannabinoid 2 (CB2)

The body creates compounds called endocannabinoids.
Hemp produces phytocannabinoids.  Although the ECS affects a huge range of physiological processes, scientists believe that its true purpose is to help the body establish and maintain good health.

CBD is a cannabis compound that many claim has medical benefits but without the feeling of being high. In fact, it can actually counteract the psychoactivity of THC. This makes it an appealing alternative for treating issues such as inflammation, anxiety, seizures, arthritis, PTSD, epilepsy, and more.  People are using CBD oil to take advantage of the healing properties of CBD without getting “stoned” or resorting to traditional pain medication. It’s even being explored for its anti-cancer properties. Further adding to its trustworthiness is the fact that science has suggested CBD can safely be consumed even at high doses.

What brand do I sell at the office?
After doing research, I have selected to sell CW Hemp at the office.  CW Hemp extracts tap a unique assortment of hemp’s phytocannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and other valuable hemp compounds that work synergistically to heighten positive effects, sometimes referred to as the “entourage effect”, making them superior to single-compound CBD alternatives.  CW uses the Whole-Plant Cannabinoids, which is a strategic key to unlocking the body's full potential.

Why CW Hemp?
The CW Hemp is the premium whole plant, hemp extract created by CW Hemp™ (Formerly CW Botanicals) using proprietary hemp genetics developed by Colorado breeders the Stanley Brothers. The genetics used to create Charlotte’s Web are licensed as industrial hemp under Federal and Colorado State law because they contain less than 0.3% THC on a dry-weight basis.

Charlotte’s Web gained worldwide notoriety after improving the quality of life of Charlotte Figi, a young girl who was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy. Charlotte’s success caught the attention of Dr. Sanjay Gupta who featured Charlotte’s story on his CNN documentary series. Charlotte’s Web has no psychoactive effects and contains naturally occurring antioxidants, neuroprotectants, and essential fatty acids.

Will I fail a drug test?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the recommended cutoff level of THC is 50 ng/mL to pass a drug test. Most employers and legal services prefer to use SAMHSA certified labs as the standard, since it’s more likely to hold up in court. Most hemp oil or CBD products are usually sold with much lower levels of THC (compared to marijuana), so most CBD consumers won’t have trouble passing a drug test. For those using extremely high levels of CBD or hemp oil (over 2,000 mg per day) it’s possible, though unlikely, that this could produce a “false positive” result on a drug test.

What can CBD Oil be used for?
Studies have shown CDB Oil may help with:
  • Reducing Pain
  • Decrease anxiety and depression
  • help with insomnia
  • PTSD
  • Relieve Cancer-Treatment side effects (nausea, vomiting, pain)
  • decrease acne
  • Might have Neuroprotective properties (treating neurological disorders like epilepsy and multiple sclerosis)

What are Possible Side Effects of CBD Oil?
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Psychosis
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Drowsiness
  • Dry mouth
  • Dizziness

  • Changes in appetite
CBD is also known to interact with several medications. Before you start using CBD oil, discuss it with your doctor to ensure your safety and avoid potentially harmful interactions.
