Mahleur Brewer Visits Georgia |
Manu De Landtsheer of Belgium's Brouwerij De Landtsheer (maker of the marvelous Malheur beers) visited with pub owners and importers at Trappeze Pub in Athens, Georgia in June of 2010. Click on the link below to view Owen's video of Manu and the guys at the Trappeze event and see the special appearance of Manu's lovely daughter (on her first visit to America).
Malheur 10 is reminiscent of a somewhat sweet, golden Belgian Triple, while the Malheur 12 is more of a rich, strong dark ale. Both superb beers are carbonated in the bottle like champagne.

Homebrewers Conference in MN |
Owen Ogletree and Don "Dr. Brewski" Beistle enjoyed a terrific National Homebrewers Conference earlier this month in Minneapolis. Along with an informative cask ale seminar from our friend Steve Hamburg (right), the conference featured symposia on yeast, hops, malt, cellaring, rare UK beers, beer history, and more.
With nearly 1,300 homebrewers, professional craft brewers and beer enthusiasts attending the sold-out 2010 National Homebrewers Conference, the event ranked as the largest gathering in the history of the conference.
