Rasta Got Soul with Fantan Mojah |
Everything Rastafari Promotions and Knak Dem Out Productions Presents Rasta Got Soul with Fantan Mojah. Fantan Mojah will be performing live in concert Saturday March 16th at Moe's Alley in Santa Cruz, Ca along with raising Jamaican reggae artist Prestige, Jah Warri, Xsample and Zareb. Tickets are $15 Advance at Moe's Alley and $20 at the door.
Fantan Mojah is notable for being one of the new wave of contemporary reggae singers who prefer to include positive themes in their lyrics. His faith is reflected in his lyrics, where some recurring themes are - praise for Jah and messages of Rastafari, positive portrayal of women, and condemnation of ill morals. This is a contrast to many popular dance hall artists, who encourage "slackness" in their lyrics, with boasts of sexual prowess and derogatory messages to women.

Cedella Marley's book to be turned into a musical |
A BOOK written by the daughter of Bob Marley is to be turned into a musical in America. Three Little Birds, which will feature music and lyrics by the reggae legend, is the brainchild of Cedella, his first-born daughter, and will enjoy its world premiere at the Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC) in Maryland's historic Glen Echo Park next week (March 15). The show features three little birds singing their sweet songs to Ziggy, a very shy child who is happy to see the world from the TV in his room.
Ziggy's tricky friend Nansi wants him to get out and enjoy the island nation of Jamaica. But, Ziggy is afraid of hurricane, mongoose and evil spirits. The worldly adventure is enlivened by the fantastic songs of Marley. Directed by Nick Olcott and adapted for the stage by ATMTC's producing artistic director, Michael J. Bobbitt, Three Little Birds brings to life not only a beautiful story, but an Afro-Caribbean culture and music that heavily influenced African-American music in the mid-1900s and continues to influence it today.

"When coasting in our comfort zones, we don't grow. We continue to do more of the same.... Maintaining a comfort zone can, paradoxically, lead to discomfort in the long run. If by being comfortable we avoid important life issues, internal tension accumulates.... Eventually, as both internal and external pressures for change persist, the ‘comfort zone’ ceases to serve us."
-- Eric Allenbaugh

If you wish, and we really wish you wouldn't, like to be removed from this list, please reply with REMOVE in subject line.
It will make us very sad if you do, and perhaps your removal will be the one the makes us decide this no longer worth doing at all, and all the information we provide will go away forever and musicians will sit home alone at night and cry because they have no one to play for because no one knows about their shows.
